Revisiting Kyoto Trip
With the lull in COVID cases, complete lack of foreign tourists and not quite Red Leaves season yet, we decided to pack our bags and stay in Kyoto for two weeks. Kyoto was not empty, but quiet. There's a decent amount of travelers coming from all over Japan to take advantage of the same chance we saw. We avoided the "tier-one" places like Kiyomizu, Kinkakuji (actually I hate that place), Fushimi Inari.
We found a house we could rent for a steal, it wasn't fancy since we weren't spending much time in it, only enough time for me to work during the weekdays and to sleep. More than half the hotels shuttered, most guest houses empty and vacant. Restaurants were randomly closed since business is so slow.
