Fuji

Since moving to Japan, I've been obsessed with Mt. Fuji. I'm happy every time I see it. From far aware as Tokyo or Chiba, from glimpses while I take long road trips out through Saitama. Or even close as you can be in Lake Kawaguchi.

I made a silly goal, after watching an episode of 充電させてもらいませんか (Can you allow me charge my battery), a TV show about a comedian road tripping with an Electric Scooter that only has 20km of range, go around Mount Fuji. I thought, I could do that in a day in a car.

Last weekend, we went for a long drive out through Odawara to Hakone to Kawaguchi, then around the Five Lakes of Fuji, and finally down the West side of Fuji, through Fujinomiya and back home to Tokyo. It was pretty do-able in three days, but Fuji is tempermental, on the last day, rain and fog made it impossible to see it.
